Tea, the Healthy Option?
Teas are not only good to enjoy but they are also beneficial to our health.

Fact: Did you know that a cup of tea contains less caffeine than a cup of coffee?
A common misconception is that tea contains the same amount of caffeine as coffee does. When in reality that couldn’t be further from the truth. Green tea contains approximately one third of the amount of caffeine that coffee does in a standard cup, and black tea contains approximately half the amount of the caffeine.
Tea has many social properties, it is well known for the Japanese tea ceremony, and also as the favoured drink of that most famous British ritual, Afternoon Tea. It conjures up the delights of warm summer afternoons spent on a manicured lawn, downing cuppas with homemade scones, strawberry preserve and Devonshire clotted cream. Ok maybe idyllic and very British, but unfortunately not always a reality. However, although we have no control over the weather, we at the Traditional Tea Company are committed to providing a most wonderful tea drinking experience for our customers no matter where they choose to drink their brew.
While you are enjoying the distinctive flavours of our teas also bear a thought that the humble cuppa has been recognised for both its stimulant properties and health benefits. Indeed in traditional Chinese medicine its properties have been valued for over 4000 years. Here in the west, the last decade has seen a vast rise in the interest of the medicinal properties of tea.
