What is Rooibos Tea?

Rooibos also know as red bush is a fine red needle like leaf grown from a South African shrub. Rooibos is fully fermented like black tea but unlike tea Rooibos is naturally caffeine free and low in tannin which gives it a naturally sweet, clean refreshing taste. Rooibos is also free of artificial colours and preservatives and is a high source of antioxidants and essential minerals including iron, potassium, fluoride and calcium. Rooibos can be brewed like tea and enjoyed with or without milk and because it’s low in tannin the leaves can be reused without the flavour ever going bitter in taste.
